Dr. Alexis Plunder
2015-2017
Present position: Researcher at BRGM (French geological survey), Orléans, France.
Alexis Plunder was hired as a post-doc in the SINK project. He did a PhD at the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris, France, in 2013, and was a post-doc/teacher at UPMC in Paris since then. Alexis is now working on numerical modeling of intra-oceanic subduction initiation, alongside ongoing work on the crystalline geology and tectonics of Anatolia
Project: “Numerical modeling of the causes of intra-oceanic subduction initiation”
Funding: ERC Starting Grant to DJJvH (Subduction Initiation reconstructed from Neotethyan Kinematics (SINK))
